60 GMC hydraulic clutch question

Question for those with the factory hydraulic clutch set up....whereabouts in the pedal travel does it feel like the clutch engages? I was told my truck has a new master (can't remember if the slave is new) and when I went to move the truck the engagement was at the very top of pedal travel. The truck has sat for a while with a leaky wheel cylinder (I recently replaced) so I'm thinking I just need to bleed it some more. Am I thinking along the right track? Thanks!

Re: 60 GMC hydraulic clutch question

I no longer have the stock hydraulic setup, but perhaps these factory shop manual pages will prove helpful:

Re: 60 GMC hydraulic clutch question

Grab two 9/16 wrenches, crawl under the pass side and adjust the rod that goes from the slave cylinder to the clutch fork. I can't remember which direction makes it higher or lower pedal travel but just play with it and you'll get it.

Re: 60 GMC hydraulic clutch question

I run mine close to 1/4" from top. I can still quick shift.
