Original parts worth rebuilding
Hey all, as i replace parts on my 75 c10 I cant help but wondering which parts are worth rebuilding opposed to getting new run of the mill napa parts. As of now most of truck components are stock and in good shape, wondering which ones I should rebuild rather than go new. Keep it Original you know? IO feel like this would have to help with the overall value of a clean unmolested truck right??

Re: Original parts worth rebuilding
Just replace the parts that need to be replaced.

Re: Original parts worth rebuilding
Well I mean correct me if I'm wrong but have a truck unmolested would refer to performance and touching the motor am I correct or incorrect? That's the way I've understood it at least.

Re: Original parts worth rebuilding
If it's plastic replace it, if it's metal rebuild it. Obviously there are exceptions.

Re: Original parts worth rebuilding
are you gonna have the water pump rebuilt?...just buy new gm or acdelco versus the chinese autozone brand....no "non-gm" wear part is going to effect the value of your truck....these 73-87's are not yenko camaros. I personally have bought/restored many of these squares and when shopping for one the question of whether it had an original rebuilt starter or a new acdelco was not a concern.

Re: Original parts worth rebuilding
didnt mean to start a riot, I plan on upgrading to performance parts where needed and wanted but i was more or less referring to hard parts such as pumps, brake components, and so forth, thanks for the info though! Truck is a super clean unmolested 75 with 57000 orig miles and factory everything except for the few things ive done, thats what got me to wondering if I should be trying to stay factory original or if it wasnt a big deal.
