BLUF: You truck looks fantastic. Antenna looks great and solid mast is way more durable than hollow telescoping type.
You and my late grandfather sound a lot alike. He served in WWII, and did something with radios. I remember him talking about AM traveling longer at night too. He used to pull in a station from Los Angeles, all the way to Northern Utah at night
