What's up with my bench seat/brackets?
So One of my little projects for this weekend was supposed to be putting the bench seat back down at a normal riding height. While I drove it home that first night on Saturday, my head nearly touched the roof of the cab, and I'm just at 6'0. I looked underneath and found a 2x4 stud between the front mount and the actual seat, raising the front of it.......that's right, 2 inches. Not a big deal, but it is high enough as it is, and my legs hit the steering wheel. I removed the wood stud, and looked, and there is nothing there to mount the front seat risers to on the seat. Can anyone help me with how this goes back together?? Is this even the correct seat for this truck? It matches the interior, and fits with what the options list says, so...?
Seat: (notice the 2x4) Seat Bracket: And this is how high it sits in the back window. is this right??

Re: What's up with my bench seat/brackets?
Your bench is a 1973-80ish gm truck and the seat tracks looks to be 67-72.

Seat tracks are the 69-70 version.

Re: What's up with my bench seat/brackets?
Aaaaaand, problem solved:
Had the seat from a leftover project -- came out of a '90 GMC 1500. It's a little blood stained, so I will be getting it recovered, but MUCH more comfortable than that old one! (Blood came from a shootout; I bought the GMC at a police auction-it was used in several bank robberies and it didn't end well for the bad guy)
