A-arm shaft wear
I've searched a bit on this forum, but didn't see the answer I'm looking for. I've got some play in the upper a-arm between the arm and the shaft on my '72 C20. If I replace the shaft bushings, will that eliminate the play? Or will the arm be worn, too? Seems like the arm is a wear part in this scenario, too. I suppose this might be a situation where it depends on the amount of wear, right?
Thanks in advance.

Re: A-arm shaft wear
Bushings should take care of it. I suppose if your bushings were absolutely toasted and there was metal-to-metal contact then you could wear the cross shaft, but I would still think a new bushing would cover some wear. You can buy complete cross shaft assemblies if you need the peace of mind. If it were me, I'd take it all apart and go from there, unless you just want to shell out the dough for new shafts now or take a chance.
