Ignition switch mounting nut
Anyone know of a supplier for the chrome nut that holds the ignition switch in the dash on vehicles made before they were mounted in the column (60-early 70's)?

Re: Ignition switch mounting nut
Post a pic of which switch you are using. A O.E.M. 60's-70's van/truck style, a tri 5 stile with the nut cover or a universal?

Re: Ignition switch mounting nut
This is the nut I need. It's for a GM switch. The nut I have is the right size but the threads are a little different.

Re: Ignition switch mounting nut
What you have is probably a universal ignition switch similar to one of these (several choices) https://www.google.com/search?q=univ...w=1047&bih=445

All I have in my pockets are bent nails, stripped head screws and rubber bands...

Re: Ignition switch mounting nut
You are first class! What are the chances of a guy in Pennsylvania needing a small obsolete part and a guy in California has one in his pocket and they connect.
Thanks tbrown |

Today i would call that 100%... I just hope it fits.. If not you'll have something to carry around in your pocket for a while...

Sounds like "You've Got Mail" (Tom Hanks, Meg Ryan) all over again!
