Out with the bagged 61 In with the 63 bbw

Sold the bagged 61 apache I had. Planned to by a 51 chevy but it sold first, then went to look at a 63 suburban, and while thinking it over, it sold.....
So, with my mind swirling and knowing whatever I get, has to be done and ready to drive 3.5hrs in 8wks to the Billetproof/Detroit Dragway Reunion at Milan Raceway in Mi on May 11th..
So I ended up buying a 63 short fleet BBW
65 327
Saginaw 4spd out of same car as motor

I'm swapping in one of my spare 5lug 3.08 posi rearends. So that along with a car 4spd should make it a highway flyer.

Plan for now is static drop. Brakes. Minor cosmetic makeover.

We'll see how this plays out. May 11th isn't far away...lol

Very nice truck. I like it a lot as it is. Its going to look awesome with a static drop and some cosmetic upgrades like you planned. What are your plans for the wheels?

I sorta view it as I'm operating a C10 rescue..lol
Just on a much cheaper scale than Del, Dino etc...

This truck has been sitting in a garage covered in dirt for 6yrs. And if I wouldn't have found it, likely woulda stayed there many more.
So I'll breathe life back into it and by chance, someone wants it more than me, well, it could be bought...

Re: Out with the bagged 61 In with the 63 bbw

Thanks guys.

Its already in garage all tore apart.

I was going to color change it, but may not now.

Its very solid underneath, very solid inner fenders/under hood etc.

But has had its share of dings, scrapes and battle scars as if its been used for years as a support vehicle at a race track...

So we'll see
