front clip/cab compatability
Hey all, I am new to the forum and this is my first post.
I just purchased a 87 silverado short/fleet with 5.7 TBI. I have a 79 front clip (core support/fenders/inners/hood/headlights/grille etc.), will these parts fit the 87 cab/frame? Thanks for any info you all can chip in... |

Re: front clip/cab compatability
yes they will just might need to move the core support forward an inch i think,
so start with putting those fenders 79 clip on then the radiator support, then you will be able to make the modifications to the core supports, then you can find how to cover the hood hinge recess holes, then put the hood on, should be good

Just to clarify, I have the radiator core support from the older truck (79) that I was hoping to use when switching the rest of the parts over to the newer truck (87). This should simply bolt right up to the frame and be in the correct position, with respect to the cab, for the 79 fenders and hood to fit properly? I know that it was a common thing to swap to a newer front end (or 'burb front end)...anyone else on the forum gone from newer to older? Thanks. |
