dealer that sold my Sub
After contacting GM with no luck, does anyone have any sources as to where I can find out where my Sub was sold? I had a guy here last year that said he could tell me, then disappeared and I haven't seen him since. I don't have any paperwork for it, and I know it was built in Fremont, but that's it. My VIN# is C1465Z107588.
Thanks |

Re: dealer that sold my Sub
Our MVD office here wont do squat. I tried to run the original plate on my old Chevy II, and they told me no, so I went to their head office in Phoenix and they told me yes. Thanks for the heads up though, I appreciate it.

Hmm.. the destination dealership is stated on the build sheet, but that's no help if none exists. I don't think GM kept very complete records back then. That's why finding a build sheet nowadays seems almost like finding gold.

oem;
Yeah, I hear ya there, brother. My seat has been done twice, so I know there isn't any build sheet or anything. I did read somewhere, that all the Fremont trucks went to dealers in the Southwest, but there again, trying to track down where it went would be next to impossible. I am going to start in the Phoenix and Scottsdale area, as my dad bought it from the original owner in Scottsdale, in '76. he'd already painted over the blue/white paint from the factory, so not even sure if it came from there. |

My burb is from Fremont and was sold new in Battle Ground, Washington. I bought it in Kansas from a guy from Colorado. It's in Arkansas now. These things can move around in 45+ yrs.

I was told years ago that a private investigator would be allowed access to vehicle records. GM lost most of it's American built truck information in a fire. If your truck was Canadian built, Oshawa Ontario built trucks have info available for them.

Re: dealer that sold my Sub
My son's truck was built in Fremont, and delivered to a dealer in Boise, Idaho, as per his build sheet, and my former step-daughters truck was built in Fremont and delivered to a dealer in Nampa, Idaho. My GMC was built in Pontaic, Michigan, and delivered to the same dealer in Nampa. I don't think there was much of a set area.
Good luck though!! |
