nw florida here (67 gmc)

hi , we all know that guy that has that car or truck in their yard that they are going to do something with one day. i work with one of those guys. this guy is a old racer , he drove straight axle gassers as daily drivers back in the 70's. he built dirt track cars in the 80's also.he bought his 67 gmc in 1977 and used it until 1998 and parked it in his yard. he tells me that hundreds of people have asked about that truck.i told him that he has turned into one of those guys that have a vehicle that is just sinking into the ground and nothing will never get around to fixing it . so i threw it out there.... you should let me have that truck..he says to me .... ya know, i think i might let you have that old truck.he says he has taken a liking to me because i just finished building a 65 falcon and i want to build a dtraight axle gasser out of a 64 comet that i have . i just got home from his house . i looked the tuck over and seen how bad it really is.it is pretty bad. it has sunken about 6 inches into the ground.the bed is filled with old tools extention cords and just a bunch of junk. we moved some stuff around and about 2 feet from the cab back the floor of the bed just hit the ground. it has some nice turbo mufflers from the early 80's on it which you can see through the bed floor .i dont think he ever cleaned out the inside . rats nest everywhere.he says he has some extra parts in the back yard... a whole othe 67 bed . two doors off of a 72 dash board transmission and various other things for the truck also. then he tells me to check out this rear end. a 56 olds axle that has been narrowed along with a econoline straight front axle.he says i can have them to put on my gasser build.i will try to get her home sometime this week and start cleaning her up.
