Wiring into door of a 57
I am putting electric windows, door light etc, in the doors of a 57 that I am building and really cannot figure out a good way to run the wires from the cab into the door. Can someone give me any ideas or pictures. I know you guys have done this. Thanks for the help.

Re: Wiring into door of a 57
Here is a clean way to do it without wires... the only draw back is once the door is open you lose power to that door.. on this suburban we only had power windows in the doors so it wasn't a big deal..

Look at Kustombrads thread, he has a really slick way of doing it. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...&postcount=360

Re: Wiring into door of a 57
Thanks for the replies, Parkwood, believe it or not I actually had those exact contacts on order but quickly realized after getting back out to the shop that I would loose power and that would not work because I put lights in the door, so when the door opens they come on. Still scratching my head!

Re: Wiring into door of a 57
I just ran the wires from the kick panel to the door so they would not be in between the door and post to get pinched. I have door panels and kick panel covers so all you see is the wires running from behind the kick panel to behind the door panel. I bought the same switches but then realized my LCF (Big Bertha) door post and doors have 2 layers of metal and some inner structure in the way. It would be a mother to mount the switches. The wires are wraped in electrical tape and no one even notices the wires.
