Firewall color
Did al the 60-66 Suburbans and Pickups have the firewall painted body color? I found some of the original light blue below my master cylinder, but the firewall has always been black, and I've redone the black once.

It depends upon where your truck was built. West coast trucks all had body colored firewalls, back East they painted them fawn like the interior. None were black as far as I know.

West coast two tone trucks painted the firewall the same color as the middle color, if that makes any sense.

Thanks everyone. My Sub was built in Fremont, so that explains the blue paint I found on the firewall. Of course when my dad bought it in 1976, the original owner already had it painted tan, so he obviously did the firewall black.
