C10 steering arms on a TF - anyone done it? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Looking around at potential ways to move my steering to the front of the axle, I came across the fact that C10 steering arms have the same 3 1/8" mounting bolt spacing that our Task Force arms do. They won't work for switching steering to the front, but they DO have tapers in them for a modern tapered tie rod end.
Anyone used these on a TF truck? Heard of it?

Never heard of it or saw it in action. Why do you need to move the steering arms from their normal location?

If I can figure a way to do it, I'd like to move the tie rod in front of the axle to clear my oil pan.

A side benefit of using C10 arms would be that they already have a taper cut into them to use modern tie rod ends, instead of old style ball studs or in-between CPP / J10 style joints.

My ongoing truck projects: 48 Chev 3100 that will run a 292 Six. 71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant. 77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.
