Re: 66 C10 Leaf Spring Rearend

Are you wanting to install a rear end from a 4x4 under your truck, onto the trailing arms, or are you wanting to do away with the trailing arms and go to leaf springs?

Easiest conversion would be to find a '63-'66 GMC 1/2 ton and start swapping out entire rear end set up. Caution, dealing with all the rivits will be the most time consuming task.

Re: 66 C10 Leaf Spring Rearend

The 65 I am restoring had a early 80s rear end under it with the leave springs. The hangers were bolted and welded. I removed them and went back to the original setup. It looked easy enough to do.

This thread will give you an idea what is involved in converting from a C10 to a K10.
