Heat shielding on a budget?
Do you guys actually buy the Thermo-Tec heat sleeves for your lines and plug wires? That stuff is so dang expensive!
There has to be a better a way.

those little silver 6" sleeves are HiGh$ . 4 for 40.$$ at summit.

See? That's what I mean. $40 for 3 feet of a wire sleeve? Seems so ridiculous to me.

For your plug wires? A wire loom is a cheap and good looking alternative for that.
Also good wires that are thick and heat resilient can help and they last plenty long Posted via Mobile Device

This is my hot tip of the week..!
If you have a Pic-A-Part type yard near you, just check out late model cars. Many newer cars have lines and hoses that run close to converters and such and use the good heat shild products. The fuel lines usually have some.. In fact the auto makers use the best heat shield made in most cases. Stuff usually don't go bad either. And it's normally free since it fits in your pocket! That's what I do..
