Re: WTB Blazer Inside Spare Carrier
These have been going for crazy money on ebay for awhile now. I sold one about 7 years ago for $250 on Ebay. I almost crapped myself when the auction ended.

Are the 73+ ones the same? Junkyard here had one in a 76 a few months ago.

Re: WTB Blazer Inside Spare Carrier
Thank you for the offer. I bought a new one from LMC--hopefully it's at least close to the original. I'll post up pics in this thread when it arrives. If I were you, I'd slap it on the Bay and cash in!

Re: WTB Blazer Inside Spare Carrier
Here's the LMC piece. Bolted right in. Looks correct enough for my purposes, especially once the tire is mounted. I bought all of the hardware from LMC. None of it worked... Went to Lowe's for correct bolts...

Yes, thanks for posting pictures. What size tire is that? Looks like its about as big as will fit on it.

Re: WTB Blazer Inside Spare Carrier
That's a 31x10.50. Any bigger probably wouldn't work. It does block some rear vis, but not much...

Re: WTB Blazer Inside Spare Carrier
Nice! The only noticable difference I see between the reproduction and an original is the original has a vertical slot for the spare tire bolt.
I borrowed this picture of an original from mkmiller1:

Re: WTB Blazer Inside Spare Carrier
I think there are extra stampings on the repro. Notice the supports welded on at the bends near the floor that don't appear to be there on the original. The slot could be cut if one were interested, but the supplied holes should work fine. This piece works for anything but a 100pt resto, though I doubt most would notice the differences unless they were side by side...

Re: WTB Blazer Inside Spare Carrier
If you are not looking for 100% factory piece Chevrolet and GMC vans have the same tire racks for the van with 3rd row seats the only difference is the top has a hole instead of a slot in it . The bolt holes are the same.

Re: WTB Blazer Inside Spare Carrier
This is my original rack. The van one is very similar and should be very easy to find. I got a couple from 1989-1990 Vans with 3rd row seats. They were 3/4 ton vans.

Hello,
I am new member and this is first reply. I am looking for AM/FM radio for my 72 K20 and found this thread in the search. I wondered if you had one and if it was for sale. Thanks, |
