drivetrain questions
Hey, so I have some questions regarding my engine placement. My truck originally came with an Inline 6 and now I have a 327. I used the engine stands I had and never thought anything of it. Now my truck also had a manual trans which now I am putting a 700 r4 in. The motor is in and now that the new trans is mocked up to it in its proper spot. Now first question, I'm putting an HEI dist. in and I'm wondering if this will cause a problem down the road when I put the cab on. Also we put the drive shaft into the trans just to see how much would need to be taken off. It looked like roughly 1 1/2". Is this normal? I know now that there was sb stands also but never looked into it before. Just wondering if there will be problems down the road. Thanks

Re: drivetrain questions
Plenty of people running hei v8s on 6cyl stands.
Have the shaft shortened and ballanced. If its a one piece driveshaft it should be less than $70, take the shop a tailshaft to center of rear joint measurement. Ts-c measurement minus 2.5" = center to center measjurement. Posted via Mobile Device
