Re: Dana 60 Front Build
So, I received my steering arms this week and was able to get them put on today. I'll have pics for you later. I should also be receiving my new hubs this week too.
So, I'm surprised no one noticed that I installed my knuckles on backwards, lol. I noticed that today when I put on my arms. My brother-in-law just laughed when I pointed it out to him. That was my dumbass move for this build, lol.

Re: Dana 60 Front Build
You can run them backwards with the cross-over highsteer, I think.

Re: Dana 60 Front Build
Was able to put the dana 60 under the truck today. Borrowed some awesome jack stand from a buddy. He said they were $600 for the pair!
So the only problem I ran into was I need to have a 4" ubolt make the diff side and the studs I got were the wrong ones. Along with that my ubold plate won't work. I just ordered a new dana 60 specific passenger side ubolt plate. Monday I will have my ubolt made. Other than those small issues everything is great. Here are some pics of the progress.

Re: Dana 60 Front Build
What are the difference between a 20 vs. 30? I thought the frame was different?
So, I didn't have much fun yesterday. I do have to say that I am learning a lot about dana 60s. My axle did not have calipers when I bought it. So, now I am learning about all the little parts I am missing. After two tries I found the right calipers and pads. After searching around on P4x4 I found out I was missing this little guy, very important. So tomorrow I will be picking up the keeper from NAPA. So I am hoping I can finish her by tuesday.

Re: Dana 60 Front Build
The frames are different, but to me, you might as well run 1 ton emblems with 1 ton axles. Trevor

Re: Dana 60 Front Build
I agree with Trevor. And that is looking awesome! It definitely stinks not having everything you need and having to search for it.

Re: Dana 60 Front Build
Ok, so I finally finished the brakes today. It ended up being the caliper that was bad. So got that all swapped out. Now all thats left is the steering adjustment. I either need to change the position of my pitman arm by rotating 90 degrees or I need to cut down my steering link bar. Right now I can't turn left at all. After that I'm good to go for a while. Saving up for gears and D.Locker.

Re: Dana 60 Front Build
Good price on that i also got mine for cheap 850 plus the rear axle that i sold for 225 so i guess i paid 600 =-p but i wish i would've kept it to build a 14b front axle. As far as those stands i do like them except the price

Re: Dana 60 Front Build
So are you going front locker or ARB, I would go ARB as I have a locker in my Dana 60 and turns like Crap with the hubs locked in or in 4wd hi or low also bad on ice mostly goes straight in a sharp turn in the winter, so an air locker would be a better choice, but thats just my choice.
