It has been a while but I think there is a lever on the box that turns a deflector inside that directs the air up to the defront vents or down to the floor. I can't remember if it was attached to a dash or under dash knob/lver or if you had to reach down and move it on the box.

I need to figure out the defrost setting before fall, because I can't feel a real air flow up there. I think my rig came with a Vintage Air that uses the original dash controls.
If I am correct, when the heater temp is on lowest, the fan switch turns on the a/c.
