help w/plumbing hydraulic clutch stainless steel AN line & fittings
Im trying to make a stainless steel AN line for my hydraulic clutch conversion. Novak says the fitting is a 3/8-24 female double flare and the line will be around 3' total. they recommend a 1/4" DOT line, so will a -06 line be to big or should I go with a -04? Also....as for the hard fittings....comingh out of the cluth slave and the master cylinder, will a regular flare fitting work or will I need to try and locate double flare fittings? This is my 1st hydraulic clutch conversion and I don't mess with lines other than brake/fuel/oil pressure very often, so I'm out of my scope of practice. Any help would be appreciated. Novak sells a line for $90, but I can get the anodized aluminum fittings and real braided line for around $35 plus shipping through Jegs or Summit. both have 3/8" npt/-06 (2.99) and 3/8"npt/-04 (2.99) flare fittings and pre made -06 & -04 lines made for $28.99
So basically trying to plumb from slave cylinder to clutch master. -06 and -04 would seem too large....-03 is available through some place and possibly -02

I can get 3/8-24 to -03 fittings and 3' -03 clutch line for $35. Fittings from russell and hose from online catalog.

Re: help w/plumbing hydraulic clutch stainless steel AN line & fittings
Ahh...i was looking for that. I get their catalog, and knew that I had seen a chart somewhere before. Thank you. That'll help a bunch. So it's looking like -03 line is the way to go then. I'll work on the proper master cylinder and slave cylinder fittings tomorrow. Will also post a pic of the slave cylinder as Novak has changed it since the last one I saw on their website.

Re: help w/plumbing hydraulic clutch stainless steel AN line & fittings
if your line is to large (-06) it will increase pedal effort, the smaller (-04) is better suited for clutch and brake applications. -06=5/16, -04=1/4,-03=3/16 ,hope this helps

Re: help w/plumbing hydraulic clutch stainless steel AN line & fittings
After alot of research and reading on this, I think -04AN is the way to go. -03/-04 seems to be the popular choices for most street vehicles and -03 for most motorcycles.
What I ordered was 1/8" NPT -04AN for the Wilwood master cylinder, 36" -04AN stainless braided HP line and 3/8" -24 IFM /-04AN for the slave cylinder. This should be the correct flares and adapters and total cost through summit $35.89. I think that Novak cannot be beat on their price for the conversion kit, but saved $54 on making my own line. That'll cover some more parts down the road.

Re: help w/plumbing hydraulic clutch stainless steel AN line & fittings
Will get some pics this weekend. The Novak slave was actually 7/16, not 3/8, but no biggie. Summit took the 3/8 fitting back and sent the correct one. Went w/-4 An line.
