Re: WTB 2pc driveshaft lwb for 250 i6

I've got a 2 piece from a 67 C20 lwb truck that had a 250 or 292 straight 6 with a 4 speed on the floor. Not sure if that would work, I attached some pictures. It needs to be cleaned up but came out of a running truck. Carrier bearing looks new and spins free. I could go $75 plus shipping, not sure what it would cost to ship unless you want to arrange shipping. Let me know.

Re: WTB 2pc driveshaft lwb for 250 i6

I have one in a 69 C10 LWB I6 3spd that I am parting out. Truck is not runable and I have not looked at the shaft but should be able to get it out this weekend and see what condition it is in. Do you care what style carrier bearing you get and do you need the carrier bearing bracket also?

Are you saying that you have a LWB C10 with a one piece shaft? I was always told they were to long and the shaft would flex to much in the middle to get it to work. I have went thru several carrier bearings in my 68 LWB C10 and would like to have a one piece shaft.

Re: WTB 2pc driveshaft lwb for 250 i6

matt, not sure on the c20-c10 driveline differences.

todd. i have a cpp crossmember so it looks like that uses the one with 2 holes inline. but i see they sell a bracket to make the one( like matt posted) work with it.

yes i have a 67 lwb with a one piece shaft. it has worked fine for me(about 1500 miles on it personally in 2 1/2 years). let me toss it out there. maybe we could work out a deal to trade them. seeing yours is a parts truck maybe you could ship it out and i could install it then ship this one out(we could each just pay shipping). only reason i say that is i still am driving mine and triing to have it down as little as possible. let me know. pics if you could.

heres mine; not the best, but you can see its a 1pc. i sanded it some(to get loose rust off) and painted it black.

Let me get mine out. I should be able to tomorrow and see what I have. The tailshaft on your transmission looks extra long to me. Get a measurement from the front u-joint to the rear u-joint to make sure I have the same length. I might be interested in trading but I am also thinking about changing the engine/ transmission combination in my truck. Lets find out if what I have will work and then we can go from there. Thanks

Looks like we are ok with length.

I have some changes planned for my truck so I think I will pass on the trade idea. A few years ago I would have jumped on that deal but now I think I better hold off.

I will take $30.00 for the driveshaft. I am sure it need u-joints and carrier bearing replaced. If I take the center u-joint apart so that it is not so long, it looks like the shipping will be around $30.00. So I think it will be $60.00 or less shipped to you. I can get it apart tomorrow and figure exact shipping cost if that sounds good to you.

I am just going to knock out one side of the u-joint to seperate the halves. I will leave it in the other half so you will have them all to match up wwhat ever you need. It is cheaper to ship and I have a box it will fit in if it is shorter and in 2 pieces. I will get you a total tomorrow. Thanks
