Turbo 350 wont shift
I am nearing the end of my build of my 72 K20 and i wanted to see if the truck would move on its own power. It has the TH350 trans with the stock 350 engine. The truck starts fine but when i shift out of park nothing happens. ( its an automatic btw). I did take out the steering column at one point would me not reinstalling this cause this problem? I did not touch the engine or trans at all during the build. When I have it in 4Low then when i shift into reverse it feels like it shifts ( the truck jerks backward a bit) but when i press the gas still nothing happens. It just revs up like it was still in park. Thanks for any help
Jake

Re: Turbo 350 wont shift
Does it have transmission fluid ?
EDIT to add Even if its low on fluid it will not shift and you can burn up the tranny. |

Re: Turbo 350 wont shift
I added transmission fluid a little while ago but it has a small leak so it could have gone down. Ill check it out. Thanks for the reply

Re: Turbo 350 wont shift
Check linkage and fluid level. Has to have enough fluid to build pump pressure to engage. Linkage would have had to have been affected if you took out the column.
