Welcome to the board!
Towing I can help you with. Chevrolet recommended an automatic behind the 250 with 3.73 gears up to a 6000lb gross combined weight and with 4.11 gears bumped it to 6500lb GCW. However a three-speed manual is going to be less capable without the starting torque converter flash and general driveline cushion. Unfortunately a specific number for the 250/3-speed is not listed. Load charts can be found in both the owners manual and the factory service manual, that you can download here. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=558016 What to look for: Rust, the less the better as well as where it is. Rocker is easier to deal with than visor or cowl rust. Completeness, the less you have the more you spend bringing it back together. Buy the best truck you can afford, not what you can make it into. Originality, the title, VIN plate and SPID should match as well as the partial frame VIN. Myself I like to look for very original trucks with a minimum number of owners, it reduces the mods. hack jobs and surprises. Take a friend who will tell you NO! Flashlights and crawl around clothes too. If you have time maybe download the 70 pickup truck data package from the GM Heritage Center and review it. We have plenty of time for questions before dawn tomorrow. http://www.gmheritagecenter.com/gm-h...tion-kits.html

This has kind of turned into a double thread. The ad pictures and a number of posts can be found here. Maybe a mod. should just combine them.

Re: 1970 swb c10 250ci info
i live in meridian ms and i can tell you that in this area that price is a little steep for that truck my truck came with a 250/3 speed and they are not easy on gas (around 11 or 12 highway) especially if its low geared. I seriously doubt it will "cruise" at 75 it will be screaming at 75. i dont mind spray in bed liners when done correctly but that greatly devauluates the truck because most people loathe it.
