Trans question

I have a 2002 5.3L that's sitting in my 1966 C10 and I'm looking for a transmission. I don't want to spend $1,500+ on buying one so I'm looking for something used. I went to a few local Pick-N-Pull this past weekend looking for one. Figuring their half price sale last weekend, there wasn't much to lose. I didn't find any 2001+ 4L60E or 4L80E. I did find a LOT of 4L60Eand 4L80E transmissions from 1999 and older and several with pretty low miles. I know it will take a .400" spacer and specialty bolt kit to get the converter to bolt up, but will there be problems with the connectors or computer controlls? What is the cutoff year that the computer controlls simply will not work?

Thanks,
Kevin C

Re: Trans question

The 97+ "non-ls" 4l80e's fit up and function the same, but do not use the top bolt on the bellhousing. I'm using one behind my 6L

Re: Trans question

Are 97+ 4L60E the same? So will I need to use a .400" spacer and bolt kit to make it work?

Thanks again,
Kevin C

You need to be a premium member to post/offer items for sale. You may want to edit the post or the mods might for you.
