Removing center link
Got a donor truck (68 lwb)and need to change over the steering components.

I just popped cl from pitman and idler using AZ loaner tools. I prefer the puller and it worked on pitman but too fat for idler. Instead of grinding loaner tool I just used the fork. Was easy.

do u happen to know the sizes of the wrenches and sockets I would need?
are there any other tools id need besides some pullers and wrench and sockets? thanks |

Typical wrenches plus all of autozone relevant loaner tools. If changing pitman arm it will require a large socket; maybe 1 5/16". Need torque wrench to tighten to torque specs. May throw alignment off.

Pulled everything, less the idler arm and pitman arm in 30 minutes, whoo hoo!!!!
Used a 1" socket on them with a pickle fork and ball joint puller. I'd have to say I was a little intimidated at first. Thanks for all the help Posted via Mobile Device |
