How about those Tonneu covers??

Anybody found a nice, sleek looking tonneu cover that is actually "user freindly" ? Meaning you can open and close it easily.

Show us some pics of your bed covers!

Re: How about those Tonneu covers??

big al ,can you take a pic of your cover on the driver side right behind the cab ? Im planning on a hidden power antenna where the left front stake pocket used to be on my bed but would like to have a cover as well and think that I can make it work with a cover like that .
Thanks John

PS / Sorry for the hijack ,never seen this cover before .

Re: How about those Tonneu covers??

I'm really interested in getting a nice tonneu cover for my 68 wide short bed..Al i like the looks of yours But i'd like to find one that covers the stake pockets even if it was a mounted frame that had snaps as I'm not worried about easy to open just a nice clean look that covers all of the top rail.
Any pics with company name and model would be great.. Thanks guys

That's what I'm looking for, too. I want to avoid water getting in the box via the stake pockets and messing up the fancy wood bed floor I'll be putting in. The only ones I've found are FullTilt and BlackMax by Extang, but I haven't seen any on the forum. I'm leaning toward the FullTilt since they claim it's easily removed and allows easy access to the bed.

I heard about a cover by checker, or it may be called check mate but it fits flush. I dont think it covers stake pockets, but hey that why you fill them before paint lol.

Re: How about those Tonneu covers??

Gaylords makes a really nice fiberglass cover for our trucks. They are a little pricey but they look good.

Re: How about those Tonneu covers??

I figured they would be heavy and hard to remove but I would not be taking it off once I put it on. I have been looking for a hard cover and Gaylords is the only hard bed cover I have found.

The Gaylords covers are actually easy to take off ,you just need a second person to help you .I have yet to take mine off and would consider another one .

Re: How about those Tonneu covers??

I really like the old school look of the soft covers over the fiberglass for my set up.

Is there a difference in the tops of the beds from a 67-72 and a 73-87 in messurerments? I see lots of fiberglass ones list for the 73 up listed for $200 to $500 that if I went that route it would get painted to match

In the 80s I had a cap on my 69 that was made for the 73 up bed. It was too wide by about an inch on each side. Length seemed OK. I don't think a soft tonneau frame for those years would fit, but a fiberglass tonneau would probably fit about like the cap I had.
