anyone use one of these for steam port?

Guys

Im trying to figure out my steam port vent routing. A lot of guys just tap into water pump (but if wp goes out, gotta do that again... in parking lot of oreillys ) and some guys run this tee from jags that run. and that looks like a nice piece, but then you see it up front right when you pop the hood.

I know that the trailblazer ss's come from the factory with the steam port entering the water pump inlet. So i was thinking of using a tee right there. it wouldnt be as visible as the upper radiator tee and its cheaper...

my steam port vent hose is 5/16" and this tee is 3/8" but that should work.

anyone ever use one of these? dorman 47112

I used a smaller brass piece to tap mine into the heater core lines, which is pretty easy to do.

As for having to tap it in an oreilly parking lot; thats what the gold AAA card is for.

My radiator had a screw in fitting for the heater hose I jus bought brass fittings and a barb fitting and ran it into there along the upper hose as the stock hose runs across my fan shroud. Not sure if this is a no no or not but seems to work fine. If u need pics let me know.

You are over-thinking it. I did everything I could to aid in servicability of my swap, but I still tapped the pump.

I've been around enough LS engines to know that the water pumps last foreeevvvverrrrrr. I'm not at all concerned that the pump will puke on a roadtrip and that it would ever be an issue.

Parts store, the heater lines are small enough that they don't require a special over size tee.
