Hello everyone, I tried searching for this particular question, and came up with many posts, but can't find the info I'm looking for. Has anyone ran or used 315/35/17 tires with a 17" X 10" wheel (on the rears) and if so, how is the clearance for 4" dropped suspension, and what backspacing/offset did you use? Thanks in advance!

Re: 17" rims and using 315/35/17 tires
Well I have 315/35/20 on 20x10 with 5.75" b.s. on a 72 rearend (wider one). So my tires will be 3" taller.
I'm on airbags with 1" or 2" blocks. At full dump the tires clear the inner fenders by ~1/16th of an inch. I did tub the rear wheel wells as well. |

Re: 17" rims and using 315/35/17 tires
Do you know for sure you have the original rear end in the truck? My bet would be yes but.. it would be worth your time to check (not assuming you haven't)
The 315 tire will be 12.4" wide 315/25.4= width if the tire cross section in inches. 12.4 (width) x .35 (aspect ratio) = the height of the tire sidewall. 4.34" This number x2 + 17 (your wheel) is the total overall height of the tire. 25.68" I know you're thinking BIG tire but 25.68" in the rear .. just my opinion.. its going to be a bit small in diameter. Form example most of the guys that do 20s on these trucks run 295/40/20 tires. That tire is 29.3" tall. This may be what you want, and that's totally cool and all.. just voicing my opinion. Re: 17" rims and using 315/35/17 tires
Im running a 295/50 on a 15x10 with a 5" drop on the rear. If I remember right i have a 4.5 back space, and i can fit my hand between the tire and my bed. but my tires barely clear my fenders. My tires have a diameter of 26.6 and are 11.61 wide. Your tires would have a diameter of 25.7 and are 12.4 wide. I hope that helps.
