What do you think of this Craigslist truck? '72 C10 Cheyenne
Hey all,
I'm going to be calling about this truck later today, but thought I'd tap into the brain trust here in the mean time. The pictures aren't great, I apologize. I'll at least be asking the seller for more pictures. It's a few hours away from me or else I'd drive right over today and look at it. It seems like a solid price for what it looks. Having a ZZ4, TH400, etc. The SPID picture is too small for me to read so it's not much help. Any thoughts for a newbie? If this is a member's truck feel free to PM me! http://portland.craigslist.org/clc/cto/3885643031.html $5,500 Text from the ad: "Sold as is needs paint work- this is a project with major potential. Price reduced for quick sell and is firm. 55000 original miles. No tire kickers if this vehicle is the one you are looking for you already know it.... Rare body style. 1972 Chevy C10 Cheyenne Pickup LWB, At, ZZ4 350 GM Crate Motor (Over 355 Horse Power!!!) Turbo 400 Transmission, AM/FM mp3, satellite radio ready cd player with remote 5 disk cd changer, Torque Thrust aluminum wheels (also have original factory Rally wheels), Professionally lowered at the "Drop Shop", Straight body NO bondo, No Rust, Perfectly Straight, New battery, New alternator, New door pins, New power steering, owners manual, and plenty of receipts. Motor alone cost over $5000. Needs paint/light in dash/tires/door pin repair just started having trouble. Hate to see my little hot rod project go. But don't want to see it fade away either." If the description is right and this is the truck you like, then go take a look and verify all is good then make a comfortable deal for you. It is a nice looking truck.

Good luck ! .
If it's truly rust free that's the sweet deal right there and I don't even like long beds , V-8's & Cheyennes . Keep us posted , that looks to be a great place to begin .

I would bet that having a ZZ4 installed in a truck would cost close to the asking price.
Looks like a deal in the ad, good deal or not will be revealed when you see it in person...hope it works out for you! |
