TF Cab corner patch panels.

They make a deluxe (sometimes called tall) and a standard cab corner patch panel.

Evidently, the deluxe are made in the US and the standard are made overseas.
One vendor says the deluxe are better stampings. Even though they are called "tall" they both are right about 14" high. The deluxe (tall) are quite a bit more expensive. Are they indeed better and worth the extra cost?

Re: TF Cab corner patch panels.

I can tell you that it took three LH corners plus a bunch of hand forming to get my foreign stamped corners to acceptable condition. Not only did they have the wrong shape where the corner met the rocker, but the excess steel was left in an accordion pleat along the bottom. Completely unacceptable but at the time I believe they were all made overseas.

Re: TF Cab corner patch panels.

i'd bet they're all stamped overseas
i used the short corners from lmc without a problem
if you don't need the extra height don't buy the tall expensive ones
only replace what you need to, no need to insert the whole patch

i doubt that you could cut a cab corner out of a solid cab and make it fit into another cab without some massaging of the metal
i used one inch wide backer strips and self drill screws to fit my cab corners
you can place screws where you need to pull in an area.
the screws and backer come out after tack welding

Re: TF Cab corner patch panels.

Side note, if you are getting rid of you gas tank filler hole, the curve of one of the old corners fits perfectly with a little trial and error.

Thanks. Good to know.
Actually, the "tall" and standard ones are very close to the same height. Both 14 to 15" inches.

Btw,

Just in case you didn't already see what I did with the flange that I cut out of that front location:
