Oil Pan
Am I going to need a different oil pan for my swap? I am putting a 5.3 V8 into my 85 pick up? My truck sits at stock height.

Re: Oil Pan
It will fit but hang a bit below the cross member. At stock height this is not a problem to you, so mechanically the pan will work fine.

Re: Oil Pan
while you have it out, throw a GMPP LSX pan on it. then if you or the next owner wants to lower, there wont be any issues.

Re: Oil Pan
^....that is what I opted for. For a 150 bones, it was hard to pass on(complete with gasket, tray/hardware & dip stick/tube). You loose about 1 Q capacity vs the truck pan, but gain about 1 1/4" in clearance. Longhorn

Re: Oil Pan
GMPP Hotrod pan (basically a Hummer H-3 pan). It is complete with gasket & dip stick & pickup tube. Also windage tray . Give me a minute, Ill get the PN....Longhorn Jegs # 809-19212593....10 bones cheaper now, says ships Monday! For the Gm pn, drop the 809 off the front. My truck is lowered, but not "slammed"....if you are on bags, & on the ground, your f body pan may be the ticket , or the Holley pan....best of fun
