Re: E-fan relay ?
fan motor seized up and drawing too much current, popping the relay?

Re: E-fan relay ?
Is this a new install or did the second fan work in the past?

Re: E-fan relay ?
this is a brand new rad and e-fans.....the second fan works, but it never ever has come on when the pcm calls for it to come on. just the clicking in the relay.....I just put it off to being something wrong in the tune...?

Re: E-fan relay ?
How are the relays wired.. Could it be a problem with the wiring? The factory wiring normally (the ones I know of) have 3 relays and run both fans at half speed or both at full speed. I am not sure what you have for your setup.

Re: E-fan relay ?
it's a PSI harness, and I tried switching the wiring and it still didn't matter, whatever fan was #2 the relay still clicked....

Re: E-fan relay ?
Does the second fan work when you put 12VDC to the hot side of the fan?

Re: E-fan relay ?
I have the exact same issue. It is only on the 2nd fan relay. I can take the signal wire and swap them on the relays and the fan works just fine. I just hooked up a switch to control the 2nd fan until I can find out why it does that.

Re: E-fan relay ?
both relays are wired the same, both fans work when hooked to 12v direct...so now I just wired both fans from the #1 signal wire, so when it comes on, both fans work...

Re: E-fan relay ?
Disconnect the computer signal to the #2 fan and trigger (ground) it manually. If that works then there is a problem with the computer or the tune. If it doesn't work, something is wrong with the way the #2 relay is wired.

Re: E-fan relay ?
ok i had the very same problem, i had the a/c pressure set to zero in the tune. i dont have the a/c run to the PCM, but its still looks for it.
i set the a/c pressure way up and it stop doing it and fan 2 operates properly now. i had to figure it out by going on HP scanner and manually turning on fan 2 and it work fine, so i knew it was something in the tune. hope this helps.

Re: E-fan relay ?
remind me how did you get your anti theft turned off in the beginning?
you may have to get a tuner to look at it for you. everything you described, sounds just like the problem i had. i could be wrong, but you have already tried all the simple stuff.

Re: E-fan relay ?
i would call and confirm yours was set up to have 2 electric fans run off the PCM, its not the default choice, so someone would have had to set it.
worst case, is taking the PCM out and mailing back to be changed. i know not entertaining idea, but better than listening to a relay click in a hot truck
