Bed Diagram (Not the Wood)
My 61 is completely bare at the moment. Bed was junk when I picked it up so I never really got a great idea of how everything went together.
Does anyone have somewhat clear pictures of how everything goes together. Specifically the front an back portions and where how the cross members go. Thanks in advance. |

kswindell, here are a few pics that show what you are after. I have several more, but these seemed to be the parts you are specifically after. Plus, I added a few extras.

Re: Bed Diagram (Not the Wood)
My 61 only has the 4 Tall cross beams an then one thin that lays on the angle. Is that normal for that year or am i missing a piece all together?

Re: Bed Diagram (Not the Wood)
Here is a link to my truck as we started to fit the bed wood, notice the grooves in the wood, the metal strips rest in those grooves and the bolts go thru the space between the boards and then attach to the metal crossmembers (thru the holes.

Re: Bed Diagram (Not the Wood)
Hmm, I don't know the answer to the kswindell, as this is the only 60-66 I have ever owned or seen in detail. Seems like you should have 1 more to me, but I can't say for sure.
And lasher78, sorry I can't help with that either. A super productive post, I know |

Re: Bed Diagram (Not the Wood)
Here is some info on the wood itself..... http://www.mar-k.com/Catalog/PDF/Ins...Dimensions.pdf The wood at the front of the bed goes on top of the sheet metal angle . the wood at the side of the bed goes on top of the crossmembers and under the angle (where the holes are ) the wood goes under the fenderwell the wood at the rear of the bed sits on top of the sheet metal angle at the rear of the bed. all pieces of the wood after they are cut to length and width sit approximately 1/2" apart (the steel strips dictate this and must have enough width to clear the carriage bolts that hold the steel strips down------washers hold the boards in place where they do not go through a crossmember...) |
