Retractable seat belts
Ok, one last thing, then I promise ( I think) that I will get out of yalls hair for today. I did a search and couldn't find the post that explained in great detail (I think it even had pics) how to "rewind" our retractable belts. Does anyone know what the heck Im talking about?
THANKS!!!!!!! junk

Re: Retractable seat belts
i dont remember ever seeing that. There is a similar thread I think by lockdoc or captain fab about belts and they were going to update it with the retract process but never did.
i cant get mine retracted either and broke the spring in one before giving up. |

Re: Retractable seat belts

Re: Retractable seat belts
I think you're screwed, sorry. I would see if anybody has some really faded seat belt/retractors you could remove the springs from. I would start with a few turns of that screw and see how much the belt retracts. Keep turning a little more until it fully retracts. I think I said it was about 6 full turns on the one I was working on. Good luck.

Re: Retractable seat belts
JoinTech if the springs are not too messed up you can take needle nose pliers cut the bad coils and re-bend the end to make the tab that fits into the plastic end piece. I had to do that twice before I figured out how to wind the spring. As long as it's only 1 or 2 coils it will not affect it.
