350 th w/lock up converter
I have been searching around town for a 700R4 trans for my truck and one of my local shops suggested I use a 350th again with a lock-up converter he states that it will probably save more gas than the 700R4. I have no clue when it come to things like this, what do you guys think out there. And could someone explain to me what a lock up conveter does?

These are known as a 350C trans. and trust me, you DON'T want one. They are a pain in the A$$ and DO NOT save fuel! GM only made them a couple of years and realized they were junk.

Smitty is right. They are junk and they don't really offer much over a normal TH350.
The lock up converter gets rid of any slipping as you cruise in top gear. (all automatics slip a little onless in lock up) That tranny will only drop your RPMs about 200 RPM...so instead of wrapping your engine out at 3000 to do 70 MPH (or what ever your RPM is) You'll be doing "only" 2800 RPM. Not much of a drop. If you want an over drive, get an overdrive. |

I have one in my garage that is in good shape with a torque converter. It's free to whoever want's to come and get it.
No shipping. Darren
