air cleaner
I have a 1962 belair 283 v8 2bl carb. I was at a car show and saw a guy that had about the same car as me, same motor. what I noticed is that he had a hose attached to the intake on the stock air cleaner and had the other end routed to the front of the grill. I asked him what purpose it served, and he said that he is pulling in fresh air into the carb. instead of it taking in the hot engine air. he claims it help proformance, and better gas mileage. is he correct? have any of you ever heard of this practice? and does it actually work? if it helps, i'd gladly do it to my car. any answer would be helpful....thanks

Re: air cleaner
