Re: Tail Light Problem
Do your front park lights work when the switch is pulled into the 1st position? If you know the wiring is correct, I'd check bulbs 1st, double check all connections and then the switch. The wiring for the tail lights is pretty straight forward. Does your license plate light come on also?

Re: Tail Light Problem
Yes both front parking lights are working in the 1st position, and i checked both bulbs and both filaments are working. At the bulb socket with the the switch in the off position both wires are ground with switch in the 2nd position both wires are hot. Idunno if that helps at all, i checked all connections and everything seems right.

Re: Tail Light Problem
Everything sounds correct. If its both taillights, I'm inclined to think its the switch. Especially if the bulbs are good, and the wiring is good. I can look tonight...I think I have 1-2 spares laying around that came from various parts trucks over the years. I lived in Newport news, Hampton and va. beach from 2000-2006. I really miss the friends and area, but have grown to being back in NC. Welcome to the forum also.

Re: Tail Light Problem
I'm actually mistaken in the off position my left light at both wires is ground but i also have a 3rd mystery wire hanging from it ( i bought the truck not too long ago still fixing PO's stuff) and at the right light one wire is ground the other is nothing... in the 2nd position on the left both wires are hot and on the right one one wire is hot the other is still nothing.

Re: Tail Light Problem
The site is working on some things, so this is the best I can do size wise unless you PM me an email and I can send it in a larger scale. From left to right you have tail light, reverse light, license plate light, reverse light and tail light. You can also save the image and enlarge it.

Re: Tail Light Problem

Re: Tail Light Problem
You cannot ground enough on these trucks. If you ground the entire lighting system better you will notice a difference. Quite a noticeable difference when I grounded the dash lights also.
