Re: Up-date on my project
I have 16" of clearance from fender to mini tub so I want to fill that as much as possible. I need at least 10" rears, maybe 11". I did think about sand blasting and or painting the Z rims but again, the rears are too narrow. Plus they look too modern.

Re: Up-date on my project
Hey Bondobob I just went thru the thread again and spotted the 3rd brake light in the tail gate. Nice touch...

Re: Up-date on my project
Thanks Brian. I figured putting it in the gate would make it more noticeable verses the back of the cab. The tube that the light is in is a section of the original 3" drive shaft from the truck. My plan is to run the hot wire over to the top drivers side corner of the gate and make a spring loaded contact so that when the gate is closed it will work and you won't see any wires. It will ground through the latches and straps. The company I work for makes LED emergency lights so the actual light is not a problem.

Re: Up-date on my project
Bob, Nice work on the milling. It is nice having access to machines. I work in a machine shop but we have been so busy I haven't had time to do any home projects...lol. I do have a list going though and have been doing some programming so that when I get some time they will be ready

Re: Up-date on my project
Up-date on the up-date: I've sold the old house, gotten divorced, bought new house (10 min. from work), and am half way finished with an addition to my garage. I'm adding 24' x 30' to my 24' x 24' (I'm 61 so if I'm going to do this I'm doing it now and BIG). I added it to the back of the existing garage so that it over-laps the house so I can go from the house into the garage without going outside. I'll remove the back wall of the garage so it's one big open space. Next I'll sell the trailer my truck is in and get to work. I hope to be wrenching by May.

Re: Up-date on my project
Even his "update-to-the-update" is 3-1/2 years old. I wonder if he even comes here anymore?
