Re: what is this?

Looks like an aftermarket overdrive unit from U.S. Gear. I have one behind my 4l80 (yes, it was installed by previous owner) and it works great. The company is out of business but I heard that parts are rebuildable and some interchange between other manufacturers. Never had a problem with mine. That's a steal for that price. Just find the wiring schismatic and cruise. Lol

Re: what is this?

So would this bolt up to my np203 or how would I make this work with trans and transfer case?

Re: what is this?

The unit replaces a transmission tailshaft. I would jump all over it if it was closer!! Rebuilding and making it fit is still cheaper than buying a new OD unit.

Re: what is this?

US gear is out of business so getting parts maybe a big issue, but for $150 it is likely worth a chance.

From what I heard when I had a US gear I found there biggest issue would be gaskets. Since they mostly used cables or levers to control selection of OD gear.
