The fleet has a Buick again
Picking up the eldest's HS car tomorrow. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to make sure it's roadworthy until he gets his license.
'65 Skylark, 300-4V with an M20 4 speed. Numbers matching block comes with it, but that will be a tabletop in the garage for a while. First to go will be the single circuit master cylinder, followed by a leaky heater core. Otherwise, I'm really happy with its condition. In CA until 2006; since then it's been in the Midwest.

Re: The fleet has a Buick again
That is a cool car. A Skylark with a 4-speed! I like it a lot!
Is the 300 from the same architecture as the 215? They appear similar in dimension, just not sure if they are related. Back in the day, my Grandma had a 300 in one of her Buicks, and that was a very smooth engine.

I'm still learning, but the experts say the 215/300 architecture is similar. Along with 2 extra pots, the 300 is bigger in both bore and stroke. The 340 is a stroker 300.

I'm keeping three spark plugs in my pocket.

Re: The fleet has a Buick again
We put a 5000 rpm chip in the MSD on the kid's Chevelle and never told him. The car was an animal with the 7000 chip in it........
