That is a nipple that threads into your intake manifold, and your heater core hose gets connected to it

You can get shiny chrome ones for like 4.00 from the parts store, over by all the aftermarket chrome stuff

it is either for kickdown or for the tv cable for a 700r4 or it could be for Cruise control, ask them for the a nipple that threads into an intake in order to connect a heater hose

700r4 I wish I had one of them. Got me a 400turbo. No cruise control either. The pic I am attaching is of the 400 turbo kickdown elec switch. Hope I got it right.

Skokie,
I usually try and take the part with me... there are two sizes of heater hose nipple connector things :p and they 'should' know that the one you need is the smaller one. The parts people try, but we've all run into those parts people that don't have much experience.

Yep thats true. Not trying to put anyone down. Just gets a little frustrating is all. I wish I could take it with me but that sucker is not coming out. I all but grabbed the vise grips. It will not budge. If needed I will get one of each match it up and return the unused one.
Thanks |

Don’t apologize, I didn’t mean to sound so PC about it. I was feeling your frustration.
I’ve started the “over-buy” thing too! I get things I think I might need, since I don’t know what I need for sure. I figured that one out the hard way… running back to the store, and more often than not I end up hitting three parts stores just to get one little thing!

LOL you are right. Especially when its 830 and the store closes at 900 and you live 15 mins away. Get both use what you need and take back what you dont. I have a drawer in my tool case just for that.
BTW does that electric kickdown switch look like its mounted right to you? Thanks |

Sorry, I don't have the electric kickdown... so I don't know ... from what I've seen (which isn't that much) it looks right... but I would be guessing.

HINT: When installing new nipple use liquid pipe sealant not the tape. The tape will sometimes cause the intake manifold to crack.
Been there, Done that, Have the broken manifold to prove it. LOL
