1972 C10 long bed beater with a 4.8 LSx swap

Oops, accidentally put my build thread title here and my question in the build thread board.

So, I'm trying to fit a 4.8 into my '72 C10. Using the mounts that set the engine forward 3", what appear to be six cylinder engine stands, and the cross member redrilled to move the engine stands back about 3" to put the engine in the stock location.

The 4.8 truck manifolds don't fit too well:

They hit the engine stands (right now the motor is resting in the engine compartment, but the stands are pushed so far apart they don't reach down to the crossmember) and exit too close to the frame rails. So, I need some sort of manifolds or headers that give a lot of clearance between the first and second cylinders on each side. The Doug Thornley headers look like they'd work, but are on the pricey side. I've seen a few similar swaps where someone tried Trailblazer SS manifolds, and they didn't work. Fifth generation Camaro manifolds look like a possibility. But then I found these:

BBK LS3 / L99 shorty headers

Looks like it might work - and would be a bit easier to hammer a bit of extra clearance into if they didn't, compared to an iron manifold. Anybody tried these, or other fifth generation Camaro headers, in a '67-'72 C10? Especially with the mounts far back on the block like mine and six cylinder engine stands.

Same, and with the 6cylinder stands and the engine that far forward, they will be one of your only options. The Dough Thorley header also fits but its much more expensive, though very very nice.

Some have also gotten the tubular fbody manifolds to fit, sometimes with modification. The new Camaro manifolds have also been used in a few configurations.

Any pictures of how they fit? I've seen a couple pictures showing the TBSS manifolds hitting the six cylinder mounts, or coming so close you have to hack them up:

Like the guy in that thread, the engine isn't very far forward - it's the mounts that are moved far backward. Mostly to clear the A/C compressor.

I used the TBSS exhaust manifolds, and couldn't get them to clear the "humps" on the original perches. So I wound up using a set of 73+ perches.
