Door mirrors

I have the original style door mirrors on my '67 C20 but I'm not very happy with how much they vibrate while driving and how much they whistle as well. I have tried both the round, which I could not see very well out of, and the rectangular, which I have now.

I'm thinking of going with the later style GM mirrors like these. What do you think? Any other options?

Re: Door mirrors

You would be able to see a lot better but I've seen these on a few of these trucks and they just don't look right to me. I'd stick with stock and live with the vibration.

Re: Door mirrors

I'd say don't do it. Will absolutely hurt resale value. If you never, ever plan to sell, then you can hang the bathroom mirror out the window and not worry about it. But, probably not what you want to hear, but since you asked - aesthetically speaking, I think they would not look so hot. Mirrors are a weird thing - they can ruin an otherwise perfect truck. But if the right mirrors ARE on there, then everyone else will pick apart what's left... ha.

Re: Door mirrors

Well ... I would have to agree. For some reason to me they do not match the lines of your truck but...it's your truck so do what pleases you. Good Luck

Re: Door mirrors

Yeah, that won't look right. Try replacing the rubber gasket that sits between the mount and the door. Try some new mounting screws too, and maybe some new original style mirror heads, as the parts that mount the mirror to the arm may be worn out. Don't get me wrong. I have all new original style mirrors, screws, gasket, arms, etc. and I get vibration, but it is probably less vibration than you're dealing with
