Best fitting headers for a 65 with sbc ?

Need pics and input here folks ! Looking for pics and any info on a quality set of headers that will work with factory motor mounts on my sbc.

I have a set but may lean toward Hedmen headers part #68606 through Summit.
I would Like to have some feedback from those who have used this specific set.

Thoughts ?

Thanks in advance.

I saw this thread in the 67-72 forum on sandesons CC11, summit sells the same style with their name on it, its worth looking at, there are other MFG`rs with the same pattern out there, they were originally bent for the s-10 v-8 trucks.

I'm using Hookers, made for a 64 C10 with 283 V8. They fit great.

I ordered the Patroit from Summit and they were not the correct ones. They looked just like the ones you have in your picture. It would not clear the drivers side engine mount. I ended up getting the Hooker headers and they fit great!

Re: Best fitting headers for a 65 with sbc ?

I'm considering modifying the engine perch's on both sides. It is a small area that the headers touch, seems like a simple solution for a good set of headers already purchased.

I found a set of tube style perches, but that entails cutting a section out of the mounting area on the top frame rails....not something I want to follow through with at this point.

The factory perch design not only supports the engine properly but acts as an extra crossmember providing optimum strength for the top frame rails.Seems like a no-brainer to me !
