6.0 muffler recomendations?
I'm just about done with my 6.0 swap in my 58 swb and I need some new mufflers to complete it. It's going to have 2.5" pipe ,and no catalytic converters, I don't want it to be real loud. I don't mind a little rumble but I don't want any drone going down the highway, nor do I want it to be obnoxious to ride in. That being said anybody got any suggestions for some good yet subtle mufflers?

Re: 6.0 muffler recomendations?
In my 68c10 with a 5.3 4l65e, with sanderson shorty headers i used new gm mufflers that came from 88-91 suburban 5.7,7.4 single muffler system. the guy at the swap meet had 2 so i figured that if a bigblock can breath through a single muffler, half of my 5.3 can breath through it. The mufflers were long life stainless. Real quiet at idle, absolutely no drone, and the headers play their tune nicely when floored! 3.08 axle 1650 rpm at 60 mgh and 22 miles per gallon. The mufflers are pretty long at i think 22".

I wanted to do something a little different from everyone else, So I went with the Thrush Welded muffles. I got two for the price of one Flowmaster, and am VERY pleased with how it sounds.

Re: 6.0 muffler recomendations?
any turbo style muffler will have a good sound and hardly any drone.
Im running some summit brand turbos and they sound great, and absolutely no drone, and its quiet enough it doesnt annoy my neighbors.

Re: 6.0 muffler recomendations?
I purchased a Magnaflow that was as large as could fit in the space I have under a 72 Blazer with a realy short wheel base. I also purchased a Flowmaster dual 2.5" into a single 3" Y feeding the Magnaflow muffler with a single outlet that will exit on the passenger side in front of the rear rear wheel. I hope to have the truck running by the end of the month... If you go on the Magnaflow website, they have some sound clips you can listen to....

Re: 6.0 muffler recomendations?
My last build I used a pair of Spintechs. LT1, shorty headers, 2.5" pipe, x-pipe through the muffs then dumped right under the bumper. It sounded great! Would sing pretty good when you mashed on it but was very quiet at highway speeds. No drone in the cab. The sound was very similar to the old 5.0 Fox body Mustangs with a off road h-pipe and a pair of Flowmasters. I'm pretty sure the series of mufflers I used was "sportsman" or something like that.
