Control arm rebuilding

I've got a 64 gmc that I'm working on got a Porterbuilt drop member on order. I'm using factory 76 control arms upper and lower the bushing was a little wore so I disassembled control arms and bought energy suspension bushings. I don't really want to press the metal inserts out of control arms and the inserts looks good would it be fine to put new bushings into the old inserts and be fine? Thanks for any help.

If you do not want to press the sleeves out then you could take a hacksaw apart. Put the blade through the center and re-assemble the hack saw. Cut the sleeve and remove.

Why not press the sleeve out and then press in the new? An alignment shop can do it for you pretty cheap i would think. My neighbor has a press so I used his, but on a 68 Camaro that I restored I had an alignment shop do it.

I have the same ES poly bushings and saw they have the outer sleeve included. Some poly bushings are intended to reuse the stock outer sleeve and some are not. I'd say these are not. I'd use the ES outer sleeves included with the bushings. The outside shape of the poly bushings might not match the stock outer sleeve.

Well I deceided to swap out the sleeves and install the new ones I've read where everybody said it was a pain but once I got started everything went well and all the new stuff fell back into place thanks for the advice guys
