Ok ok ok I know Randy doesn't really live in Topeka, but I'm more looking for Topeka area members. Currently I live about 45 minutes northwest of Topeka and am driving to Topeka every day. My wife and I are closing on our new home November 1st, which will be on the NE side of Topeka, near 46th and K4 for those of you who know the area. The best part about the place is the 30x50 shop and 2.8 acres. To say i'm happy is an understatement. It will be nice to be closer to Randys place when I have to go get parts in a pinch.
Anyway, I was just putting this on here and thought about maybe having a get together at the new place next spring or something like that, unless Randy was going to have one of his again. Here is a picture I have of the back of the house, it's the only decent one I had on my phone for whatever reason. Definitely an upgrade in house and shop, the appraisal is done as well as all inspections, I can't wait to get moved in.

Congrats Kevin!!!!!!!!!!!! You are going to be close. Chipflyer (Jeff) lives within a couple miles of you too, he is a very good person to know he fixes most of everything I can't (I don't fix anything so he does it all) but most of all he is a good guy and great friend.
Setup a get together at your new place sounds good to me

Welcome to the neighborhood Kevin, can't wait to meet you in person. I like living up here, usually pretty quiet and lots of good neighbors up here to keep an eye on things. Having Randy within 5 miles is a bonus must people could only imagine, great source for parts and info if you are into these old trucks. If we don't have a meet at Randys next year I may have one over here.

Will do Leon, always good to catch up with you and visit. I wished I could have made Riverside this year but we did the state fair thing that weekend. We might have to do something in the spring before it gets to hot.

Re: Topeka, Ks members(Teeitup, Ackattack?+others)
Recently joined. SW Topeka.
Have '67 C10, just updated with 350 FI, auto overdrive, PS, power front disc. Body not bad, but will need some rust repair and new paint soon. Would be interested in a get together. Heard about Randy from deputy sheriff who helped me check my new speedometer head (planned, not a ticket!). It registers 60, but am only going 55. So will need some help determining which speedo cable gear to install to correct. Also, want to install sway bar. Looking for other misc. parts to continue to update the exterior. Have a few leftover parts to swap. Kent Melcher 785-806-0299 |
