'60-'62 Disc Brake Spindles: recommendations?
Who's disc brake spindles do you guys recommend for '60-'62 trucks?
I'm finally going to rebuild the whole front suspension, and I'm going to upgrade to discs at the same time so I can tow with the truck. -Brad

I went with CPP and have been running them since '03.
Mine were actually made by Western Chassis too so maybe you can skip the middle man. Very easy install and stops on a dime... |

Any issues with them moving the wheel outboard? I've read that's a problem with some spindles, but not others.

I think my brother who owns a 65 and another friend
of mine with a 64 ran into that issue but my dropped spindles from Western Chassis were perfect. I'm not sure what kind those guys have.. |

Re: '60-'62 Disc Brake Spindles: recommendations?
From my experience on my 65 riding on a 62 frame with torsion bars, the regular drop spindles from Cpp will move your wheels out if you are going from drums, but very little.
Supposedly, the Cpp Modular drop spindles do not move your wheels out at all. If you do buy Cpp, look at Summit. They had the best prices, and let me return my for a full refund - no questions asked. I had to return mine because they wouldn't work with my 15" wheels.

Re: '60-'62 Disc Brake Spindles: recommendations?
Not at all with mine especially since my front end is lowered around 6 inches. Just keep in mind if you are using the stock rim they will not work for the disc brake..

I really don't know what the stock ride height is supposed to be. I've ranked my torsion bars down pretty far, but don't seem to bottom out frequently. There's a couple threads left on the big t-bar adjuster bolts. I want the drop spindles so I can put my stock suspension geometry back... or as close to it as is reasonable. I'd also like to be able to use stock-length shock absorbers too. I've gone through the shock company catalogs and there isn't one with the same mounting eyes and the shorter length required. -Brad

Re: '60-'62 Disc Brake Spindles: recommendations?
Does anybody have any experience with the spindles from LMC?
Their site says they move things in 3/4-inch to retain the factory track width and fender clearance. -Brad
