Re: Hood Adjustability?
Holy cow! Is the hood bowed up in the center? I didn't think it was gonna be that bad!

Re: Hood Adjustability?
Mine is doing the same thing. I think my hood hinge is worn out.

Re: Hood Adjustability?
Looks like a bad hinge on the left side. Can you push the hood down on the left by the cowl to make it go down where it needs to be?

Re: Hood Adjustability?
Grease the heck out of the hinges and see what happens - when my hoods start sitting up a bit in back this gets them level....good luck

Re: Hood Adjustability?
Thanks for all the thoughts, guys. I don't think my hinges are worn out, when I open the hood there is no play. I can't push it into place either. I guess it could be a bowed hood.

Re: Hood Adjustability?
Dood, I spent hours and hours trying to get my hood down on the Blazer. Eventually I used a step drill and enlarged the bolt holes to the fender. Finally I got it. Also I used Teflon spray (very expensive) for my hinge lube. It looks passable and works awesome!

Re: Hood Adjustability?
I drove my truck today. My driver's hinge is junk and the hood ain't all that great. I have to push the driver's side down every time I close the hood. I didn't think about your post until I was almost home. It was dark and rainy. I'll open and close it, without pushing the backside down and compare it to your pic. From what I understand most guys barely loosen the hinges at the fender and push the hood open so that the hinge rocks back and tighten it. That seems to help but yours may be a little excessive.

Re: Hood Adjustability?
You didnt happen to put a new cowl gasket in it, did you? You wouldnt believe how bad the wrong gaskets can make a hood fit...
Does it make any differance if you put the side rubbers in?

Re: Hood Adjustability?
Close the hood slowly and watch the back revets if they move you know what to do, Make sure hinges are good before changing hood

Re: Hood Adjustability?
You can adjust hood alot easir with the fender wells removed. That is how I have done mine in the past. Before I installed hinges, I would just sit the hood on front clip on the truck. Check for warpage, look at lines. Take off, install hinges, hood again, bolt down lightly and adjust from inside fender well looking up to hinges mounts. Have rubber hammer, long flat screw driver and a 9/16 short socket and a ratchet set up from flexability. That should determine if its the hood or other body panels out of alignmnet.

Re: Hood Adjustability?
Thanks a lot for the input guys. I need a new hood anyways, so I am looking around for a new one now. There is no play or any movement in the hinge. I'll dig in and report back.
