Rear seat question.
I'm on the hunt for an original rear seat, for my 72 Blazer.
My question is, are all 67-72 Blazer rear seats, the same? I've got about 6-12 months before I'll be ready for one. But, I figured that I better start looking now. |

Re: Rear seat question.
Well the 67's and 68's are REALLY rare I think the seats are all the same. Upholstery may differ though.

Re: Rear seat question.
Yes I can tell you for sure the bolt pattern and fitment is the same for the 72 and earlier.

Re: Rear seat question.
Yep they are the same. Upholstery is negligible as after 40 years most will need redone or at least a throw blanket put on em. Good luck finding one. I looked for five years before I found mine. It was being used in a guy backyard to smoke cigarettes on. Lol. Newer seats can fit if you modify the legs. I did have a mid 80s seat in mine prior to finding the stock one. At least people can sit back there in the mean time. I just welded new metal to the existing legs to use the stock bolt holes.

Re: Rear seat question.
I will go with the third row, Suburban - Escalade seat if I have to.
I'm doing a frame off restoration, so I anticipated having the upholstery done if I found one. I'll start looking now, and if I don't find one when the time comes, I will go the other route. I just don't like how high the seat backs look with the late model seats. Its not noticeable until the Blazer top is off, and I plan on never having a top on it. It's not a big deal, but I like the looks of the original. Last edited by East Tex; 10-22-2013 at 07:10 PM. |

Re: Rear seat question.
I ditch the one in my 75 sold to a guy who had a 68 he said it bolted right in. I used a flip up seat from a 78 so when I need more cargo room I just lift it up

Re: Rear seat question.
Outback Truck parts in Spring (just south of The Woodlands) had a couple the last time I was over there.
Last year, I bought a nice one from him for $100

Re: Rear seat question.
I wish I had a pic of the rear seat In my 69 that I sold because it was different from the one I now have in my 71. It didn't have armrests and may have not been a blazer seat but it bolted in.

Re: Rear seat question.
Haha. Yeah he said he didn't care. He had a barbers chair he put in its place. Lol. For what it's worth my rear seat is a 72 and has 4 rear brackets that fit perfect. I used Two center bolts 1/4 inch longer to allow for Seat belts. I still Need to get some correct ones For Back there. I'm waiting til I do the rollcage so I can add 3 point harnesses. For now I have no name belts I got for cheap just to have something back there.
